Chicago, IOC, and gang violence: What’s the relation?

I did a report on the Olympics 2016. 4 cities , Chicago, Rio de Janeiro, Madrid, and Tokyo , are currently competing for the hosting spot. A lot of controversy has settled into the Chicago campaign as this happened...

Fox news rambled over President Obama's support of the Olympics and how they think he is wrong for supporting the Olympics in Chicago(in spite the fact that it will create jobs and boost the economy if Chicago is elected), but the real problem is the Gang violence and how it effects not just the gang member but also the person's best friend, mom, dad, brother, and sister, and overall the community as a whole. This young 16 year old boy was not a gang member but simple helping a friend caught in a gang fight. Let's watch!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhbbGF4Y9yI

Responding to FOX News video

Barak Obama is not the cause of the fight but gang violence is. On going wars over words, territory, bragging rights, and reputation spark murders of teens well in their prime who I do not agree with last portion of what this man said but most of it I do. What is the cause of gang violence? The lack of a father or mother, economic oppression and depression? President Obama can only inspire change. No human being can change the heart of a person so the criticism of the president in this video is an illegitimate argument to the cause of the violence exhibited. Even as I write this today, I can only inspire change or place the thought into some one’s mind to think twice about gangs, drugs, and other crimes. I can not make a person change and no one else can but GOD. We as human have the right to choose to listen to the voice of GOD or not. President Obama’s intention to support the Olympics will not cause more violence.

Why is it that every time something horrible happens, President Obama is blamed? Was this the first action like this? Will it be the last?

So in conclusion, I say to Fox News, President Obama is only one man that can inspire change and he is not the cause for every bad thing in America and it pains me to see that they strive to find ways to criticize him for something that was totally unexpected and that could have happened in Brazil and Spain in. In fact, an incident like this happened in Honduras not to long ago. If this incident that occurred in Chicago happened in Spain, the President will not be blamed. Yes America, let us not worship political leaders. The actions of a small sect of violent people will take the cake not the leaders like Obama who inspire peace. Let us keep GOD first. However, at the same time we must be the America founded upon Christ and pray for the our leaders that they are in sited from GOD and not bash them for things that they have little control over, the hearts of man.

I cried when I saw the video and was angered that a person would stand there and film a fight like that. Everyone in the video except maybe one or two were cheering and facilitating in the fight. I mean it happens all of the time in my generation. People set a date and time to fight and the spectators stand around phones and cameras erect laughing, pointing, ooing, and awing. At school the next day, every has access to the fight that humiliated some one.

It is so sad that people think that violence is acceptable. The teens in this scene thought nothing of death, just entertainment. Seriously, if you want entertainment then watch SportsCenter or the MMA. This is recreation to some to search for fights or even be in them. How can we change the minds of teens? Its starts at the home and can also be drilled in under athletics.

These actions are praise in media that teens and children have access to and adored by the consumers who love it. Why is this behavior praised? Why not run from a fight and call for help instead of watch a gruesome and pointless war between members of the same country. The outside world sees us as brutal in another light. The IOC will take this into account on Friday as they negotiate who should win the hosting. If you asked me, Chicago should be the winner. After all, Americans support the Olympics more than any other nation and the Olympics will raise the economy and possibly public moral.

If you are thinking about joining a gang, think twice. Your actions do not just affect you, but every one you love and care for. You put those who love you in danger every day by joining a gang. The 16-year-old boy was an honors student probably on his way to college and out of the south side of Chicago. He was put in danger after trying to help his friend. Would you let your friend die? By joining gangs, you say an alarming “YES” every day.

He did it Suddenly

I was super late today at church. I guess my dad. . .

Liberty Soccer Shootout 2009

Friday September 11, 2009

There wasn't much talk about 9-11 today except in my 3rd block class. In first block we took a practice Reading ACT test. I have to improve in that area. Theatre was pretty laid back. I prepared to leave school and help coach Carter at Katecampell. Tanner was sick so I moved away from him so I would not catch anything. Ryan moved up there to escape loneliness I guess. I those guys a re really funny. At first they were cool- talking about basketball and coaches, but then things turned for the worst. I was shocked at how little repect and morals they have. I tried to in part some wisdom until I just couldn't take it. I moved to the 4th row. I came back because I thought they stopped but then I came back to a grieving immorality. I left and this time for good until the end of class.

In 3rd block we talked about Plessy v. Ferguson and other things in which we had a round table dicsussion of sorts. We talked about 9-11 also. We were asked to write about where we were and what we were doing on the day of the attacks. We were also to say how it affected us in any way.
Coach P found my Boston butt tickets in the parking lot.
I left school at 1:45 or so with Parker. We went to Madison to get her shin guards. I looked at JCM - and then Madison. I was appalled. I thought about the corrupt things that go on in the school board and how little they care about JCM. I thought about how STUPID it is of them to take our(Liberty's ) health science classes out and put them in JCM. In a culture that is in dyer need of this field of education, why are we taking it out of a school in which would actually prepare students for the field. Let's face it. NO ONE WANTS TO GO TO JCM. Why not have a partner ship with both school since they are so close and most students that go to LIBERTY want the Health Science Classes. This will not help the culture of JCM it will only deprive Liberty of yet another field that has been lost in the last two years. Another Change as was personified in my blog "My Take: Changes". The U.S is searching for native doctors and other medical and science fields. Taking the classes out of Liberty will by no means help the state of our culture's lack in medical needs. I am not in these classes, but my heart goes out to those who will not have a chance to get a head start on the medical field. I think I'll email and mail the school.

"Corrupt" by Felicia Ingram coming soon stay tuned

Our first game was against Dickson County, Coach Carter's Alma Mater. It seemed as if we were missing everything. Coach Carter was mad. We played horribly and afraid. We lost badly. I was ready to play before the game. I don't know what happened.
I went to Light After Dark after the game. Micheal Jordan was inducted into the Hall of Fame along with John Stockan(NBA all time leader in assists), David Robinson( who oozes class), and Vivian Stringer. It was motivating to see all of there testimonies and hear of their upbringings.

Saturday September

Dyersburg was first at 9:00. At first we were playing with them. They had some good center mids outside mids and there forwards were decent. I was scrabling around trying to guard at least 3 people in the middle. It was a tough game. I hated that we were loosing to such a team. Their stopper was strong and saying some crazy stuff like,"That dirty. . . I like it!" Everyone was annoyed by that.

In between games, I saw Madison and Bartlett. Brent came to the game. I told him that he was going to be a crazy old man when he gets older. Everyone was really nice at the game. All of the Madison parents and fans.

I really did not want to play North Side. They were better than the game before. They moved
North Side. It took us ages to score. I was mad. How could we (liberty) be tied with North Side passed half time. We scored finally off of a cross from AB. Coach JC moved Ana Beth up to forward and Laura to Center Mid. It seemed to work on paper, but something wasn't right. Any way we finally won minutes maybe even seconds before the game's end.

Game Day!

So Sleepy! I hit the snooze on my cell phone too many times. JCM was coming up today. I never loved to push. I still haven't found my Boston Butt Cards. I walk right passed Coach P and he said nothing. I walked on to Mrs. Guthries's. Max and Cole were extra silly in AD today. We turned in our hooks even though some people neglected them completely. We also talked about community service ( in which I no time). The community service projects are Kawanis, Jaskcon Helth Dept, and something about books. I though about my leadership Community service projects and the my practices. I have to make time (for basketball). Sometimes it seems that I am involved in too much but I can't get away from it. "That's what I do"! We must at least one CS project a month.

Whooo! IDK

Mrs. Young's class wass well Ms. Young's class. We worked on our models. Jeremy and Ryan did the craziest thing that I can not err.

Mrs Merry
We began reading an article on President Obama's address. In this article, apparently HPSC, a school system, thinks that President Obama was going to say something bad to the students later on so they banded teachers from showing it when it came on. That's crazy!
We read an excert or two and we talked about it. I said" This is great but some peopke might say he's not my mom or dad but he has good intentions and we should all take it to heart." Mariah however opposed that slightly by saying there are some who are out in position where they are not able to fnish school. In the excert were words and phrases like "drop out", "quit school... quit on your country", and "no excuse not to finish school" . President Obama was true on all his points.
I also said," he is definently pushing education... education is the foundation to our country and in the Bible it says my people perish because of lack of knowledge..." if we don't know how to do certain things, our country will perish.

We talked more about that and we did the PEOC

Lunch... ;)

IN fourth block Mrs. Teague's bell ringer was Health Care should provide free of charge to all... Yes or NO

I agreed, with...

"United States Health Care should absolutely be free of charge for all Americans. Free health care will eliminate major problems in today's Health Care. The First thing that will be eliminated is the millions of American without health care. It will also eliminate the health care system as a market and establish it as a service. Some say health care for all will be the demise of the country based on other countries. We must learn as Americans innovative and affective ways to keep and provide every citizen, doctors, doctors' visits, pap smears, pre-natal care, surgical operations, or any other health care need. We are intelligent enough to achieve these feats."

Dr. Murray anounced that we would wathch President Obama's address to Students. They gave us a worksheet/handout. We had to write about the speech

The worksheet was like this:

ICommon Persuasive

Instructinons
Read the following persausive techniques exlantion

Bandwagon, testimonial, emotonal appeal, plain folks.
II examples found in the speech of each.

President Obama's speech was at the right time and was well needed. It was on education. Education is the Key. I learned in the speech that failure teaches you. The greatest people have the most failure. He used examples like Michael Jordon and JK Rolland. Some people don't recieve words like this every day like. So hearing some one telling them that they can be something is a lot of help. He empowered us with you are the next to repair the problems of your parents. He gave specific reason why we should get educated and involved in EC activities.
Preparation
Science could prepare people for medical fields and othe studies will help solving problems in the government or other firls.
We had to write about a part of the speech that moved us...
"I was moved when President Obama talked about failure. Failure is a struggle for all human beings. It is essentioal to the growth and advancemen of humans. President Obama said the most successfule people have a great deal of failure. He then went through examples of people who went through failure and rejection. This is encaouragin to students who have seemed to be missing points."

Game time

JCM vs Liberty Part Two.

I prayed befor the game. Isaew COach Jones there for about 5 minutes on the side line showing moral support. Mrs. Neely showed too. The News guys was there and our ref forgot we were having a game so we had to get a European guy from Union.

The whole game I was afraid of getting hurt. I was a bit tentative. There was way toooo much pushing. The JCM girls were pushing Laura and M. Parker. While they pushed Laura they laughed about it and the ref saud nothing. I said "Dude they'fre pushing and lauging." He sounded Irish.

I saw a lot of Liberty football players and a JCM basketball player. It seems as if JCM bands together even in loosing efforts.

They seemed less"ghetto" and a little more organized than last year. Either way... nevermind. We scored four in the first and 3 in the second. I scored in the first by the 18. SO EASY!!

HOME
Salad, Silent Library, So Much HW

I ate before I started my HW. It was a bbq chcken salad with lemon pepper.
I then turned on Silent Library after joking with Dad. I love that show or do I just love Zero Kazama the host? Either way, I can't get enough.

Rafael Nadal is the best tennis player ever! I love watching him play! A Mi Me Gusta Ver el Juega!

When I turned to ESPN2, he was loosing 6 to 3 in the 1st. He worked his way to 6-6 only to loose 6-7. He carried the momentum to the next set. Monfils is a good player form Australia but Rafa is way more athletic. I though about how the ball curves in to an orbital shape when Rafa bends a return. The athletiscim... and to do it all on a hurt stomach is un heard of. Rafa could have easily given up this match ehtn he was doen 6- 3. Nadal, never rattle, quickly gained 2 sets up on the emerging Monfil. Monfil was talking to himself( guess in Australian) when Rafa gained pn him in the first set. His excitment pushed jim through the first. he just might be runnign out of gas as the IBM Poll suggested. This solidifies Rafa as the fittest tennis player. To come back from an injury. I love Rafa's new hair cut/ After the match, a man comes up and kisses him on the cheeck. What kind of security? Did they forget that someone was stabbed by a stray fan years before? Any way Rafa tried to hug the guy because he's a nice guy and doesn't want to look bad.

09-09-09

Yesterday we talked Obama in fourth block( insert here)

Today he was to discuss Health Care.

Church was not normal for me. I had a lot of AD HW an I was by myself. I was appalled when Jerrious told me how his team has 4th block athletics( aside from the fact that it is a system wide rule that no school can have fourth block athletics). He was shocked to find out that I was in AD and that I fell asleep in class today( I had good reason). Dad taught but I couldn't hear it because they closed the doors of the sanctuary. After church I got to greet Apostle and Remah (lol). I didn't know people liked me like that. I felt accepted like when we were forced to hug everyone in the church.

I got a chance to listen of President Obama's Speech on Health Care. It was great and thought provoking. It seems that America is always late to the party. First it was women's rights and now it is health care. we are the only democratic country without a country wide health care.

September 10, 2009
Today, I got more rest and overslept.

Parker had a knife in her car.. just kidding a machete from when she went to Nicaragua. She accumulates junk like crazy.
AD was more chill today. I could tell Mrs. Guthrie had been stressed . She relaxed more today. Its a wonder what can happen if people would just relax( Not directed toward Mrs. Guthrie.)
Theatre was relaxed. We are making a model of the stage. Ryan and Jeremy were just that- Ryan and Jeremy.

Mrs. Merry.
Class was great. I'm,m getting engaged more with and interacting with my classmates.

Parker sent me a quote"A woman should be so hidden in Christ that a man must seek Him in order to find her.-I really liked the quote so I thought I would share."

It was really right on time. I helped me to make a decision.

"Nadal vs Gonzalez Different Kind of Beautiful"

Rafael Nadal v.s Gonzalez. Gonzalez is giving Rafa a tough match.. Wow! as he ties 6-6 in the first. The strong New York City breeze hit Rafa's hair and moved it backward. He dominates the tiebreak of the first set, 4-love. He looked so calm in a such a pressured situation. Even more than Gonzalez who had control of most of the first set. I guess that's what makes Rafa Rafa. Rafael gets stirred a little as Gonzalez reaches a back 3-4. Rafa's eyes stay low while he plays. Rough. No, Sharp. His eyes weren't soft like Gonzalez's were . His face has perfect geometric shapes. His thick eye brows stay close and closed. Never once does he crack a smile while playing. Always wearing a game face tight with dark brown eyes and thick brows.

Wow as he wins the set 6-7.
Banana. Rafa eats a banana as the U.S Open plays Beyonce"Single Ladies" for some reason. Of all the artists and songs in the world . . .Beyonce . . . "Single Ladies". The trainer works his lower back or stomach. His face starred blankly in the air and previously barely holding his stomach when he hurt it. His eyes hidden under eye brows like the clouds hid the sky and sun on that day.

Chris Evert talks about how hard playing with stomach injuries is. Rafa is a fighter. Persevereor . Everything about him is athletic from his physic to the ball that left his racket. His Physic spoke of athleticism and his face showed concentration and focus. Even when he missed a play it still amazed me. Just as he is rattled, he calms. Something I need. He raises his eyes just to see the score board and sky. Its raining. Another rain delay. I thought the best times to watch Rafa was at night almost midnight on a school night. I was happy when the rain delay came at 7:29. The rain delay continues so Rafa didn't get to finish him off.

Boston Butts For Sale

Today I got up and I had to go to Coach P for the fundraiser. He told me to see him after class. I realized that there would be no pep rally because we had a fight by the portables and an incident in 2nd block (pray for Jessica). Today was game day. We were going to Adamsville. Yesterday in 4th(English III Honors) the Bellringer was do you think women have equal rights in society. At 1st i was for it but as i thought about the number of ceo's and recognition. I thought about how women in sports think that they have to pose nude. I thought about how nba is worshipped while the wnba barely get .
